"Sustainability in art residencies”
RESIDE / SUSTAIN is participatated as a partner in the International conference T'he Art and Practices of Hospitality', that took place in VYKSA art residency in Russia between 25th and 28th of November.
The Reside / Sustain project examines the role of the artist residency in enabling sustainable development in Finland and in Russia and aims to answer questions on how residencies could provide platforms for the multiple aspects that are necessary regarding ecological action and change.
Our participation in the conference included the invitation of Ki Nurmenniemi (co-founder / curator punos.org, doctoral candidate, Interdisciplinary Sustainability Sciences, DENVI, University of Helsinki), Yekaterina Egorova (Moscow Circular), Yekaterina Labinskaya (GRASS Laboratory of Ecosystem Design) and also including presentations from Dana Neilson and Juha Huuskonen from HIAP (Helsinki International Artist Programme). The Reside / Sustain project is conducted within the Connecting Points- programme at HIAP.
